Jacob Odell

One of the hottest teachers on the Central Coast, Jacob teaches GUITAR, BASS &UKULELE. His music styles include Rock, Blues, Classical, Jazz, Metal, Funk and Worldbeat. We are proud to have Jacob leading out teen guitar class method program. While keeping the pules of current music trends, he makes learning fun by incorporating contemporary music styles with a commitment to teaching the basics. Available for both private & group classes, Jacob teaches youth, teens, & adults.

Shaun Fairfiled

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Shaun received his Bachelor of Guitar Music and Music Teaching Credential from California State University Northridge. He specializes in classical guitar techniques and has traveled to Brazil and Spain to study and perform both folk and classical styles. Shaun primarily teaches GUITAR, BASS and MUSIC THEORY and can also teach beginning to intermediate level piano, flute, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, recorder and ukulele. Growing up on the Central Coast, he has performed with many local groups and musicians and is a graduate of the Cuesta College Jazz program.

Julian Darpino

Monday, Friday & Saturday

Julian teaches SAXOPHONE, PIANO, and specializes in classical and jazz theory and composition. He is currently a choral accompanist at St. William’s in Atascadero, and actively composes scores for various instrumental ensembles. He carries a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, a Master of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition, and served as studio assistant and apprentice to composer John Luther Adams. Julian enjoys sharing a wide range of musical interests and experience with his students and believes that every student is on a unique musical path that should be recognized and cultivated by the teacher.

Liam Bronkar

Liam Bronkar is a local musician on the Central Coast with experience playing Drums, Keyboard, Ukulele, Bass and Guitar. With an added interest in music production, he also has a passion for sound synthesis and design. Music Theory and knowledge of chord extensions are of particular interest as well for those seeking to expand their musical vocabulary. Great for beginning to intermediate players, Liam is passionate about getting musicians started and going on their path.

Robyn Saxer

Robyn teaches PIANO/KEYBOARD, VOICE, GUITAR, UKULELE  and FRENCH HORN.  She was raised in a musical family and has a lifetime of performance experience; she holds a B.A. in Drama from UC Irvine and graduated with Honors in Musical Theatre. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Robyn moved to SLO county in 2012 to mentor children and youth ages 3-18 with the local educational organization Outside Now. Classically trained, she plays in a variety of musical styles and enjoys inspiring creative exploration and play in music making with students of all ages.  She is a singer-songwriter and performs, tours, produces, and records (vocals, keyboard, ukulele, French Horn, guitar, harp, accordion, and percussion) with the local band Zen Mountain Poets.

Thomas Grandoli

Thomas's musical journey began over 20 years ago, and he has since honed his skills in various disciplines. Holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition from UCSB, he has dedicated years of study to mastering the guitar, voice, and composition. His specialization lies in Jazz, Blues, Rock, and RnB, allowing him to provide a diverse and rich musical experience for his students.

At Matt's Music, Thomas specializes in teaching GUITAR, VOICE, PIANO, UKULELE, BASS, BANJO and VIOLIN. His teaching methods are a unique blend of ear-training, playing, and improvisation, aiming to foster well-rounded musicians who can adapt to different musical styles and situations. By combining technical proficiency with a strong foundation in music theory, Thomas empowers his students to become versatile and expressive performers. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced musician seeking to enhance your skills, Thomas welcomes you to join his musical journey at Matt's Music.
